316L Alloy Core, Inconel Appearance

InssTek has developed a convenient powder handling technique that provides filigree dosage and the ability to mix raw materials. The company tested the technology on an industrial valve with the SUS 316L anticorrosive alloy in combination with Inconel IN718 high temperature resistant treatment. The description of metallurgical studies indicates that at the beginning of the work the share of nickel in the material was less than 12%, and after completion the percentage content reached 52.8. That is, the upper levels of the products almost do not contain Inconel 718. Then Insstek tested the demo samples for hardness. Each test included functional gradient materials (FGM) and demonstrated a gradual transition from one alloy to another.

The company also produces metal-plastic composites (MMK). Metal alloys are mixed in fixed proportions, but their characteristics are adjusted during application. Using the innovative feeder at MX-Labs, the company showed the possibilities of creating unique compositions of raw materials and the application of resources for the manufacture of some components using DMT technology. The use of the technique is in demand in serial production. 3D equipment allows you to create structures with complex geometry, provides high speed, and the production process is safe for health.
